During the scanning process, your dentist will use the iTero Element Scanner’s wand to capture images of your teeth and gum tissue. You can breathe or swallow as you normally would. You can even pause during the process if you need to sneeze or just want to ask a question.

The iTero Element Scanner will give us a 3D model of your mouth that we can use with all dental services, including the Invisalign Outcome Simulator, to show you what your new smile might look like.

What Does The Invisalign® Orthodontic Treatment Involve?

At Pearl Cosmetic and Family Dentistry, we carefully assess your candidacy for Invisalign before we plan your course of treatment. Once it has been determined that Invisalign can benefit your dental health, Dr. Mojaver will make impressions of your bite and send it to Invisalign® for processing.

Your will receive customized aligners made using advanced 3-D computer imaging based on your bite impressions. These clear aligners must be worn at all times, only to be removed when you eat, drink, brush, and floss.

Treatment time and the number of aligners needed to complete a dental correction will vary on a case to case basis, depending on severity and what the patient wants to achieve. Typically, most Invisalign treatments last about a year from start to finish.

Will My Insurance Cover Invisalign®?

If your dental insurance includes orthodontic treatment, then Invisalign® should be covered under your policy. However, it’s best to give your insurance company a call just to confirm.
